Communications/Marketing Internship / Sports Management

Special Olympics Kansas has on-going opening(s) in the Marketing /Communications Department. Position(s) will assist with public relations, social media, special events and marketing efforts (graphic design). SOKS will work with student to develop a schedule
that accommodates the internís time with classes and employment. Working remote is available, depending upon student needs.
Salary & Benefits: Unpaid position, college credit is available upon approval.
Interns will assist with marketing/communications needed for state competitions, special events, healthy athlete initiatives or charity events. This may include, but is not limited to graphic design as needed, promotional flyers/brochures, media releases and other social networking assistance.
PRIMARY DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:
- Write and deploy press releases
- Design brochures/flyers
- Interview and write athlete profiles
- Market programs and events
- Assist in creating annual report and/or promotional material
- Work closely with Sr. VP of Communications on media relations
Ideal candidate will be pursuing a degree in communications, public relations, marketing, social media, nonprofit management or graphic design. Must be motivated, possess strong oral and written communication skills, be creative, have a valid driverís license, be able to attend work regularly as scheduled and able to represent the organization in a professional manner.
The non-paid internship offers outstanding opportunities to build a portfolio and resume in addition to solid career experience. SOKS will help the intern develop a schedule that works with their classes and/or employment.
Junior or Senior status preferred. Writing, marketing, graphic design and organizational skills.
