Long Island Ducks
The Long Island Ducks are accepting resumes for a Social Media / Video Production intern for the 2018 season. The start date could be within the next month or so and the internship would run through early October, or the end of the 2018 season. Knowledge of website maintenance and Adobe Photoshop & Premiere is a plus, as are experience in video editing, marketing and promotions. Strong knowledge of social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube, are essential, as are writing and verbal skills and the ability to work well in a dynamic, small-office environment. The successful candidate should be dependable, able to handle multiple tasks, work long hours (weekends, evenings and holiday included), be willing to get his/her hands dirty, and assist both the Director of Media Relations & Broadcasting and the Director of Promotions & Marketing in:
-Assisting in the creation of all Ducks social media postings
-Writing and distributing periodic social media updates
-Capturing video/photos during events/games and editing for marketing purposes
-Serving as support staff for all other departments on an “as needed” basis.
-Creation of innovative ways to gain media coverage and increase followers for the Ducks, in conjunction with the Ducks media relations and promotions/ marketing departments
-Create editorial and content calendars
-Continuously improve social media by capturing and analyzing appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices and then acting on the information
-Develop innovative and creative media content across social media platforms
-Propose creative strategy in collaboration with direct supervisors
-Create and maintain relevant social media accounts
-Set up daily tasks and activity for all social media outlets
-Keep track of social media trends and competition
-Deliver monthly reports with statistics and results for each account
-Other duties as assigned
-Demonstrate expertise in the use of social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube.
-Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, and content management systems
-Video editing skills a plus, but not required
-Detail-oriented and organized, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
-Must be a strong writer with demonstrated strong analytical skills including Google Analytics and analytics tools from various social media platforms.
-Understand the concept behind Ducks’ social identity and online voice
-Able to make creative suggestions in the interest of the organization
-Excellent written communication skills with emphasis on proofreading and grammatical accuracy
-Must provide own laptop
In addition to the above, the candidate will heavily assist in ballpark operations, mascot duties and more. This is an unpaid internship. However, to help offset any costs involved with the internship (travel, etc), an $800 monthly stipend will be provided.
