Software Engineer Intern / Sports Equipment

Job Description
  • Participates in all aspects of the development process for domestic ecommerce website and related systems.
  • Manages, under supervision, daily content and updates to company's domestic ecommerce website
  • Develops and documents technical solutions in response to requests to enhance and optimize company's ecommerce website
  • Participates in coding of solutions
  • Assists with quality assurance activities, including unit testing, system testing, and solution validation
  • Performs daily builds and the promotion of code to the development environment for subsequent testing
  • Participates on agile project teams led by project managers
  • Knowledge of web development technologies including HTML and CSS is required
  • Familiarity with client-side and server-side JavaScript strongly preferred
  • Understanding of jQuery, AJAX, JSON, XML, XPath, XSD Schemas, and XSLT Transformations is preferred
  • Knowledge of designing, developing, and calling web services and other forms of remote API calls
  • Familiarity with key technologies including web servers, relational databases, scheduled batch jobs, data transformation, import, and export
  • Awareness of the software development life cycle and related processes
  • Become acclimated to client-side development technologies
  • Become familiar and proficient with Agile delivery processes
  • Learn how to maintain productivity and manage multiple tasks in a high-volume environment
  • Develop business acumen within the retail/athletics industry
  • Learn how to communicate effectively, through different mediums at various levels of an organization, to include an audience with little or no technical knowledge
Job Type: Internship
Education: In pursuit of Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
Hours: Average 20 per week
Duration: Minimum 12 weeks
Work Hours: Flexible within 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday - Friday
