The New Orleans football communications internship will provide support to the club’s football communications department.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Writing and editing press releases and game releases
Writing and editing of flip card.
Assisting in writing and editing of team media guide.
Managing maintenance, production and distribution of club’s roster.
Credentialing for minicamps, OTAs and training camp and assisting in game credentialing.
Research of statistical information for both internal and external use.
Assisting in home event management (minicamp, OTA, training camp, regular season practices and games).
Assisting in gameday setup.
Assisting in writing and editing of game program.
Transcription of media availabilities.
Writing gameday notes.
Additional duties as assigned by the football communications staff.
Candidates must have demonstrated experience in a sports communications department either as an intern or student assistant.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Familiarity with Quark Xpress and Microsoft Office.
Ability to work independently with a task with limited guidance and complete it with additional follow-through and follow-up when necessary.
Ability to handle multiple tasks.
Ability to handle physical requirements, including set up for events.
Ability to interact with team’s players and staff both internally and externally in a professional manner.
Ability to work with and around confidential information when necessary
Interns must be able to work extended hours including some nights and weekends. A background in public/media relations or sports management is strongly encouraged. Candidates must possess strong written and oral communication skills. The intern will be required to participate in a mandatory background check and drug testing at the beginning of the internship.
During the summer and fall interns may be exposed to heat and other weather conditions.
Occasional light to moderate lifting required.
