The New Orleans Saints and the New Orleans Pelicans Internship Program will unite a team of energetic and ambitious post-graduates looking for an opportunity to enhance their education with real world, hands-on experience. Our goal is to provide an enriching environment that allows each intern to grow and develop professionally and personally. As an intern, you will have the unique experience of learning from multiple departments of not only one, but two professional sports teams – the New Orleans Saints (NFL) and the New Orleans Pelicans (NBA). As life is within the sports industry, your day-to-day responsibilities will rarely be the same – from Saints Training Camp to Pelicans Game Days, Saints Game Days to Pelicans Community Events. This position is responsible for supporting the development and execution of key promotional and community initiatives that are intended to increase ticket sales and Pelicans brand awareness throughout the New Orleans metro and surrounding areas.


  • Must be able to work all regular season home games (including pre-season and playoffs) as well as Pelicans Team Events.
  • Working with Promotions and Game Day Coordinator in leading game day set-up at all home games as well as working with other department personnel in organizing game day prep for each game.
  • Responsible for messaging out photos and descriptions of each giveaway to all applicable parties internally and externally throughout the season.
  • Assist with accepting departmental deliveries at Smoothie King Center and Pelicans offices.
  • Keep up to date inventory of departmental assets and supplies.
  • Assisting with fulfilling department needs during player autograph sessions.
  • Must be able to work Grassroots Appearances and assist with mascot appearances (when applicable).
  • Assist in all aspects of assigned projects within the Marketing and Event Presentation Department.
  • Continue developing and securing persons and groups within the Pelicans volunteer program.
  • Coordinate volunteers on game days and for Pelicans team events when needed.
  • Assist in the day to day responsibilities within the Jr. Pelicans Kids Club program.
  • Assist in the development and events within the NBA All Star Balloting Campaign initiative.
  • Assist with the development and execution of Pelicans Fest and concourse activities.
  • Assist in planning and execution of events and Grassroots Appearances.
  • Contribute to the theme night development and execution.
  • Identify, research and present relevant elements assisting with elevating Pelicans departmental initiatives.
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned.
  • Serve professionally as a liaison for the Pelicans externally and interdepartmentally with Basketball Operations, Ticket Sales, Community Affairs, Corporate Partnerships, Marketing, Fan Experience and SMG.
  • Assist with activating Pelicans elements at Saints home games.
  • Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships interdepartmentally.
  • Must be able to come to work promptly and regularly.
  • Must be able to take direction and work well with others.
  • Must be able to work under the stress of deadlines.
  • Must be able to react to change productively and handle tasks as assigned.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours when needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.


  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint.
  • Must possess an eagerness to learn about the Event Marketing industry.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must enjoy working with people, possessing strong team work skills as well as the ability to work independently.
  • Must be self-motivated, organized, professional, mature and detail oriented.
  • Prior experience with promotions, event planning, operations, event execution and customer service is preferred.


  • Ability to lift over 25+ pounds for premium item giveaways, deliveries, etc.
  • Must be willing and able to work long, irregular hours including some nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must have housing in or around the New Orleans area.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
  • Sports-related experience is preferred.
  • Excellent ability to service a variety of internal and external publics.
  • Detail oriented; excellent creative and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Flexible work hours.
