Finance & Administration Intern (Summer 2018) / Pro Sports

The Finance & Admisitrative Intern will be responsible for assisting the Finance department in day-to-day operations. The main responsibilities for this role are to provide accounting support and clerical work as needed. Internships with Chicago Fire will offer an assortment of valuable learning experiences and exposure to all facets of a professional sports teamís front office. Interns should be able to commit to 25-30 hours per week. They may occasionally be asked to assist for extra hours during month end or possibly be asked to work nights or weekends during the regular season.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with Accounts Payable Process
  • Assist in balancing General Ledger Cash Balance to the online bank information on a daily basis
  • Assist with Accounts Receivable Process
  • Assist with Monthly/Quarterly Financial Report preparation
  • Assist in organizing invoices to ensure proper coding and approval
  • Assist in Auditing Department Budget to Actual Expenses
  • Maintain General Ledger Journal Entries and Account Payable Files
  • Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as necessary

    Qualifications:

  • Currently seeking an Accounting, Economics, or Finance degree from an Accredited College or University with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook) required
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Previous office experience or knowledge of Sports Business a plus
  • QuickBooks general ledger software experience a plus

    This is an unpaid internship - MUST RECEIVE COLLEGE CREDIT FOR INTERNSHIP
